Aspirations Media takes both manuscript as well as artwork submissions from those who are interested in working with us, should we have a project that might meet their style. Please read below for the guidelines for each type of submission. Please note if you’re an artist/writer you can make mention of this in your manuscript submission but do not include any artwork with your book submission unless asked by the submissions department. In like manner, do not submit artwork for your book as an art submission unless it is the only sample of your work you can showcase for purposes of evaluation.

Besides looking at manuscript submissions Aspirations Media is also open to looking at artwork submissions from artists who’d like to be considered for freelance work on our various projects. Aspirations Media can’t guarantee any work just because a submission has been made to us but we do keep submissions on file and when something comes up that looks to be a good fit for the artist who made the submission, the artist will be contacted to see their level of interest/availability.

To submit work please make sure the following information is included in your email:

Your name
Location (City, State and Country if outside the US)
An email address and website address to view more of your work/contact you.
A list of other work you’ve done to this point for other companies (if applicable).
A list of what you’d like to work on/where you feel your strengths lie.

Please send this information with your samples to the submissions department. All artwork should not exceed 300 dpi nor should you send more than ten samples (if we want to see more we’ll contact you and/or go to your website).

We will keep your art on file if we think it is something we can use in the future and contact you when and if anything should come up that would fit with your style and our needs.

Thank you for considering Aspirations Media as a possible publishing home for your manuscript. We hope these guidelines will give you a clearer picture to see if we're a good fit for your work.

Aspirations Media primarily publishes fantasy, action/adventure, mystery/suspense, young adult, juvenile, and children’s books.

A literary agent is not required for submission. Please note we will also consider manuscripts that are currently on submission to another publisher, but ask that you let us know your work is being considered elsewhere with your submission to us.

We do not accept manuscripts containing excessive or gratuitous vulgarity, swearing, explicit sex, and abusive or hate material.

The average word count varies by genre and audience but usually we aren't interested in works less than 45,000 words. We tend to favor a range of 80,000 to 100,000 words for most of our publications. Exceptions are made for children's and some juvenile books, which can fall below the 45,000 word minimum.

SUBMITTING MANUSCRIPTS
Aspirations Media™ does not deal with hard copy submissions. Please send all email submissions to us with three separate Word file attachments. These three attachments are: a cover letter, a synopsis, and a partial manuscript (see below). We reserve the right to not read and reject (without reply) any submissions improperly submitted and/or formatted.

Cover Letter
Your cover letter should clearly specify the following information:

What genre your manuscript falls into and if it is a stand alone novel or part of an ongoing series.
The word count of your completed manuscript.
The intended audience of this book. Note the more precise you can be the better. (Most books can be read by a reader of any age – we need the age of the intended audience for marketing purposes.) Please pick the audience that best fits your book: Children’s (under 9), Preteen (9-12), Young Adult (13-18), or Adult (18+).
Your contact information including a phone number, mailing address, and email address.

Synopsis
Please note that we’re looking for a one to two page synopsis and not a sale’s pitch or back cover blurb for your book. All text in the synopsis should be double spaced with 1" margins all around and no font size smaller than 12 used for the text. Tell us what the story is about without trying to sell us on how wonderful it is. If you have a good story it will sell itself to us.

If this manuscript is part of a series, then we will also require a one page summary explaining the remaining story line to be included with your submission. With this synopsis we’re just looking for the over all direction and progress the story will take in the series.

Partial Manuscript
To get a good feel for your story, we require you send the first three and last chapter of your manuscript. All text in the manuscript should be double spaced with 1" margins all around and no font size smaller than 12 used for the text.

HOW TO SUBMIT
When your submission is ready you can click here and attach it to the email. Please fill in the date of your submission in the subject line in the spot allotted for it (i.e. 00/00/00 would become 12/13/10, for example).

In the email body please also include your contact information (name, address, phone and email) and how you heard about us.

It may require 12-16 weeks for our editors to review a submission and come to a decision. Please don't contact Aspirations Media™ to check on the status of your submission during this time. We will notify you within the given time period to let you know if we are interested in pursuing publication.

You may contact our Submissions Editor if you have any trouble in sending your initial submission to us. Please do not send any manuscripts or submissions to the Submissions Editor. Submissions sent to that address will be discarded and no reply given.
